Jordan Hearing Aids – Bonebridge Dinner
Jordan Hearing Aids – agent of Austrian company MED-EL – hosted Prof. George Sprinzl, Head of the Otorhinolaryngology and Neck Surgery Department at St. Pölten Hospital in Austria, during a dinner banquet that was recently held at the InterContinental Amman. Organized in collaboration with the Jordanian Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, the event also featured a group of otorhinolaryngologists from across the Kingdom to discuss the scientific paper presented by Prof. Sprinzl on the latest advancements in the implantation of the hearing implant, Bonebridge.
“Our goal is to provide advanced technologies and innovative solutions in the areas of hearing and speech, in order to help affected individuals enjoy a healthy and normal life. As such, we continuously strive to organize lectures, seminars and workshops, as well as host prominent specialists, in line with efforts to educate otorhinolaryngologists across Jordan about the latest scientific advancements in the field,” commented Eng. Raed Billeh, General Manager of Jordan Hearing Aids.
Invented by international company MED-EL, the Bonebridge is the first-of-its-kind implant in the world. It was specifically designed to help people suffering from single-sided deafness or from conductive and mixed hearing loss due to middle ear disorders or malformations of the outer ear. The Bonebridge is a bone conduction implant that transmits sound waves via the cranial bone directly to the inner ear, where they are perceived as natural sound. The implant is surgically inserted and is completely invisible under the intact skin, whereas the audio processor is held directly over the implant by magnet, allowing it to be comfortably and discreetly worn beneath the hair.
